Frequently asked questions
What happens when I reach my plan's tracked event limit?
At 100% of your limit your dashboard and billing page show a warning, and everything keeps being recorded. Up to 120% of your limit (1,200 events on Starter, 6,000 on Pro, 30,000 on Growth) nothing is dropped. Beyond that, custom events and revenue or conversions reported from the browser are not recorded for the rest of the billing period. A purchase event with an amount needs room for both of its events, so it can be refused when fewer than two events remain below the cap. Revenue that Stripe reports to us and events you send from your own server with your ingest secret are always recorded, and pageviews are never limited. Usage starts again at zero when your billing period renews, and you can upgrade at any time to raise your limit.
What exactly counts as a tracked event?
A tracked event is a custom event you send, or a revenue or conversion event recorded for your websites, whether it comes from Stripe, your server or the browser. A visit to a page that matches one of your conversion rules is recorded as one conversion and counts as one event. A purchase event that includes an amount is recorded as a custom event and as a sale, so it counts as two tracked events. An event without an amount counts as one. Pageviews and visitor counts do not count toward your limit. Refunds, $0 payments, Stripe test-mode payments and the conversion rules themselves are not counted.
Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan at any time?
Yes, you can upgrade at any time. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing cycle.
What's included in the 7-day free trial?
You get full access to all features of the plan you select during the trial. A card is required to start, but nothing is charged for 7 days. Each customer gets one free trial, so if you come back after you have subscribed or canceled, your plan starts with a normal charge.
How does billing work after the trial?
Your card is charged automatically when the 7-day trial ends, and then monthly, unless you cancel first. You can cancel any time, and if you cancel before the trial ends you won't be charged. After you cancel you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
What happens if a payment fails?
Stripe retries the payment, and we show a banner with a link to update your payment method. You keep full access for 7 days after the payment was due. After that your dashboard is locked and tracking pauses until the payment goes through. Revenue that Stripe reports to us is still recorded. Your data is kept.
